Privacy notice.

This site is a personal profile run by Daniel Wilkinson, based in Ashington, Northumberland. It has no accounts, no shop and no contact form. This notice explains the little data that does get handled, and who to contact about it. For anything relating to a specific business, that company's own privacy notice applies.

Analytics cookies

I use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit and which sections they read. It sets cookies in your browser and collects a truncated IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view. It does not run until you choose Accept on the cookie banner, and nothing is stored before that point. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the name dw-consent, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer, or by clearing your browser data for this site. Google acts as my processor for this and retains the data for 14 months. It is not used for advertising, and advertising and personalisation signals are switched off.

Legal basis: your consent, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and UK GDPR. You can withdraw it whenever you like.

If you email me

Emailing dan@danielwilkinson.media means I hold your address and whatever you write. I use it to reply and, where it turns into work, to keep a record of the enquiry. I do not add anyone to a mailing list. Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted within 12 months; where the correspondence relates to a booking, business records are kept for six years as tax rules require.

Legal basis: legitimate interests in answering the people who contact me, and legal obligation for the records I have to keep.

Hosting and fonts

My hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and your IP address is visible to Google in doing so. Some data may be transferred outside the UK under the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of any personal data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or ask for its use to be restricted. Email dan@danielwilkinson.media and I will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with the response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
